Quick answer

For most websites, images wider than 1920 px only add download weight. This workflow scales larger photos down to 1920 px wide, converts them to WebP at 80% quality and strips metadata — typically a large saving over camera JPGs.

What this workflow does

  1. Resize to at most 1920 px wide, never enlarged
  2. Convert to WebP
  3. Quality 80%
  4. Remove metadata

Why these settings

  • 1920 px covers full-width layouts on most laptop and desktop screens.
  • WebP is supported by every current browser and is usually much smaller than JPG at the same visual quality.
  • Images already narrower than 1920 px keep their size instead of being enlarged.
  • Removing EXIF data drops location and camera details you probably don't want to publish.

Make it yours

Change any setting and run your own version, save it in this browser, or share the settings with a link. Links and exports carry settings only — never images.
